build, put up , found 和set up 的区别

1)build建造,建立,建设,常指建造较大的物体,如:

They built their homes and made their farms there.他们在那儿建立了家园,办起了农场。

在表示建立一个商店、企业时,也可用start 和open. 如:start/open a factory (shop, business) 开办工厂(商店、公司)

2)set up意为“开办,建立”,常和表示组织、机构、团体等意义的名词连用,与found基本相同,但found更着重打基础。

set up a school (hospital, state ,government, shop, business) 建立学校(医院、国家、政府、商店、企业)

found a city ( state, party, university, etc. ) 兴建城市(建立国家、党派;创办大学等)

3)put着重指建造或搭起一个具有高度的具体的物体,口语中set up 和build也有此意。例如:

They put up (set up) a new house /tent.他们建了一座新房子/搭起一个帐篷。

wear, put on ,dress, have on的区别

1)wear 是“穿着”,“戴着”的意思,可用于穿衣、穿鞋、戴帽子,戴手套、佩戴首饰等,强调状态。

I don't wear glasses. 我不戴眼镜。

2)put on指“戴上”,“穿上”,表示穿衣服的动作,其反义词是take off。

Put on your coat, it is cold today. 穿上外套吧,今天天气冷。

3)dress 可作及物动词,有“穿着”,“打扮”的意思,但只用于穿衣,它既表示动作,又表状态,常用于下列结构:dress sb / oneself(给某人穿衣服)、dress well和be dressed in 等

She always dresses well.她总是打扮得很漂亮。

4)have on 和 be in+颜色也是“穿着”的意思,都指穿的状态,但have on不用于进行时态。

He has a blue coat on. ( =He’s wearing a blue coat. )他穿着一件蓝衣服。

The building of a new car factory was agreed on last month. 建新汽车厂的协议已于上月达成,…

句中的building为动名词。动名词既有名词的功能也有动词的功能,即其后可以跟宾语等。例如:

Walking is a good exercise.

agree on 表示双方就某件事取得一致意见或达成共识。例如:

Finally they agreed on a cease-fire. 最后他们达成了停火协议。

agree to

agree to(接名词或动词不定式)意思是“赞同”某种提议、方法、计划,或“同意”做某事。

We agreed to leave at once.我们同意立即离开。

agree with(接名词、代词)意思是“同意”某人的意见或看法。

My mother doesn’t agree with me to make friends with him. 我妈妈不同意我跟他交朋友。

In the afternoon we’ll visit the factory which makes minibuses and trucks.下午我们将要参观生产小型公共汽车和卡车的工厂。

这是一个复合句,which makes minibuses and trucks 是宾语从句,修饰factory。此句的先行词factory,指地点,但由于引导词在从句中作主语,必须用which或that,不能用where,也不能省略,又如:

The house which stands ten yards from the road belongs to Tom. 离马路十码远的那座房子是汤姆的。

定语从句的引导词指代先行词并在定语从句中作主语,如果先行词是单数,定语从句的谓语用单数;如果先行词是复数,定语从句的谓语则用复数。本句的引导词which指代先行词factory,由于factory是单数,所以定语从句的谓语makes用单数,又如:

The park which is near the sea is very beautiful.位于海滨的那座公园很美。

The cars will be supplied to people all over the country. 汽车将向全国供应。

supply作及物动词,意思为“供应、供给、提供”等。它常用于以下用法:

supply sb. with sth. ; supply sth. to / for sb.

This river supplies water to/for people along it. 这条河流向沿岸人民供给饮用水。

The bookshop supplies textbooks to/ for students./The bookshop supplies students with textbooks. 这家商店供应学生教科书。

Milk is supplied to each house in bottles by the shop. 这家商店供应各家各户瓶装牛奶。

They will spend almost 100 million yuan on the project.这个工程将耗资他们1亿元。

“spend+表示钱的名词或短语+ on + n.”结构的意思是“花多少钱买某物”。例如:

He spent ten dollars on that jacket. 买那件夹克他花了10美元。

“spend + 表示时间的名词或短语 + on + n”结构表示“花费多少时间做某事”。例如:

They spent five years on the bridge. 他们建那座桥用了5年时间。

“spend+表示时间的名词或短语+(in)doing”结构表示:“花费多少时间做某事”。例如:

She spent a whole morning ( in) learning English. 她一早上都在学习英语。

在英语中表示“约定时间做某事”的方法有:

Are/Will you be free tonight? 今晚你有空吗?

1) The River Nile used to flood large areas every year and destroyed houses and crops. The new dam can control the waters of the Nile so that they run regularly all through the year. Electricity(20-50%of the electricity which Egypt needs )can be produced from the water which runs through the base of the dam.

2) The High Dam is the biggest in the world. It is 3830 meters long, 980 meters wide an the base and 40 meters wide at the top. The lake made by the dam is 500 kilometers long.

3) The water level of the lake was going to rise by 63 meters. It would be necessary to move 53000 people from their villages. A lot of important old temples dated from about 1250 BC would be covered by the water of the new lake so they would be in danger.

关于三峡的资料:

船出了西陵峡,经过一段宽谷的航行后就进入了长江三峡的另一座古城巴东。长江三峡的巫峡就从巴东县的官渡口开始,结束于四川省巫山县的大宁河口,全长42km,巫峡以巫山得名。她幽深秀丽,千姿百态,以俊秀著称天下。峡谷内长年云遮雾绕,细雨蒙蒙,及易形成巫山云雨的奇妙景观。谷深峡长,奇峰突兀,江流曲折,百转千回,船行其间,宛若进入奇丽的画廊,充满诗情画意,令人叹为观止。不少观光游客游过巫峡之后,感触颇深地说:“要知中国画与中国山水的关系,不到巫峡不明白。”唐朝诗人元稹曾赋诗曰:“曾经沧海难为水,除却巫山不是云。”可见巫山云雨乃是天下云雨之冠了。

二、学习方法介绍( 20′) - 学习英语无捷径。要想学好英语只有大量实践,多听多读多说多写。不要被商业广告所误导。

- 对于高中英语学习者我特别推荐英语简易读物,读的材料要浅易,故事性要强,读的速度尽可能快一些,读的越多越好。这是学好英语屡试不爽的一个好办法。

- 说英语一不要怕犯错误,二不要怕别人笑话。要争取一切机会讲英语,和外国人讲,和同学讲,和同事讲,实在没办法的时候和自己讲。例如,可以把自己想说的话录下来,然后再放出来自己听。

- 要多用词典,多用英语词典。如果读词典读的津津有味,就说明学英语已经上路了。   - 英语具有较好的基础以后,通读(注意不是略读或跳读)一本浅易的英语语法书会使你有一种豁然开朗的感觉。

从根本上变"要我学"为"我要学",就能学会英语,会学英语。   

三 、学好英语的几个关键问题   Ⅰ.如何才能做到坚持不懈?   人之初,性本懒!坚持是世界上最难的一件事情!要想坚持必须做到以下几点:   

1、先彻底模仿一篇文章,要模仿得和录音完全一样!   

2、英语书要随身携带,有空就读!   

3、每天必须坚持脱口而出几个句子或一小段文章!这样就可以保持一种"成就感"!

4、要用"热爱"来代替毅力!一口流利的英语是多么美妙的事情,疯狂热爱英语吧!   

Ⅱ.单词到底怎么背?   掌握单词的方法就是:第一、把单词读准;第二、大量地朗读和背诵文章。发音好的人,背单词特别快! 俗话说:只有成章入口,才能出口成章!

我要介绍的第一招是:借熟记新。何谓借熟记新?即使在一个新单词中找你记得的熟词,从而记住新词。如:card,scarf,carnation中有你最熟悉的单词car,只需要在car前后增加字母就成了卡片,围巾,康乃馨。再如:newspaper中就有两个熟词 news ,paper。再有:mistake中有 make;midnight中有 night;mineral 中有mine; market中有 mark...等等。

假如你有"角色意识"的话,仔细研究你要记的单词,那么你会发现适合借熟记新原则的单词会是很多的.   我再介绍一招:改头换面.所谓改头换面就是将你认识的熟词改换其中的一个或几个字母而成为你要记的生词.如:将take → sake; take → bake → fake → wake → cake ...;back → rack; bank →blank →tank → rank →thank → thankful....;ask →task → bask ;bar → bare →barely;now → how → bow → cow → grow → blow → throw   → flow ...;经过改头换面,你也许会发现英语单词的构成不再是杂乱无章了,而是熟词的另一种组合罢了!  

第三招:趣味记忆.就是利用读音,谐音,汉语等帮助你记住一些难记的单词.学英语的人都知道英语的语言大师――莎士比亚.他名字如何拼写呢?请记住:握长矛的人就是莎士比亚.你看:Shake(握手的"握") +spear(长矛)+e =Shakespeare;有两组短语不易分清楚:long before ;before long 我们根据意思记:long 在前,"很久前"; long在后,"不久后",不就记住了吗?英语中有几个动词不太好区分,它们是:lie (撒谎), lie(躺,位于) , lay(下蛋,搁置),特别难区分的是它们的过去式和过去分词形式.先背住几句顺口溜:

规则的"撒谎",不规则的"躺";"躺"过就"下蛋",

"下蛋"不规则.

lie (撒谎) →lied → lied → lying   lie(躺,位于)→ lay → lain → lying   "躺"的过去是就是"下蛋"的原形(请比较)  

lay(下蛋,搁置)→laid → laid → laying   所谓规则的是指其过去式,过去分词是规则的.lay属于元音加y结尾的词加后缀应是规则的(直接加),该词却变y为i加d因此是不规则的.再就是hang 的过去式和过去分词有两种形式,形式不同意义就迥然不同.

请看:hang → hanged → hanged (绞死);hang → hung → hung (挂,悬挂)记顺口溜:规则的"绞死"不规则的"挂". 当然,

这些笨办法的目的就是记住单词短语,用时不会搞错.   最后一招就是:利用构词法.就是在词根的前面,后面或在前后面加上词缀,

以形成新的单词.这是扩大词汇的最有效,最重要的办法.这必须记住一些常见的前后缀,和它们所表示的词类及意义.往往一些英语学习者忽视了这一点.任何英语教材都会列出常见的词缀.请各位网友注意就行,不用我耽误大家时间了!  

英语单词记忆有法,但法无定法.还是那句老话:只要你能记住,记得多就是的办法.说了这么多,关键一条就是:   培养角色意识,坚持反复记忆;观察分析单词,选取记忆.   Ⅲ.学习的过程,犹如欣赏风景,书页翻动,体验进步的感动。学习英语,唯有快乐才是最美的时尚。   同音词,是发音一样但意义不同的字,这是英语幽默的源泉。

比如:  

1. Why is six afraid of seven? ---- Because 7 8 9.   为什么6害怕7?因为 seven eight nine = seven ate nine. 如果7吃了9,6自然会害怕7的,6和7离的很近,6的长相酷似9的长相,唉,人家6怎不担忧啊!  

2. What relatives are dependent on you? --- Uncles, aunts and cousins.   哪家亲戚会依赖你?这里 you 的发音和字母 u 一样,其实有三家亲戚都离不开字母U的。   3. What starts with T, ends with T, and can be full of T? --- Teapot   什么以 T 开头,以 T 结尾,又充满了 T ?最后的这个 T 要理解成 tea. 茶壶就出来了。   

三、学习要求(5′)

  1. 制定学习计划,学习目标。严格按计划执行,只有坚持不懈才能获得成功。   

  2. 2. 课前预习,上课认真听讲,课后及时复习。以导学教程为辅助,老师讲到那,必须做到那。我们英语课的基本顺序是先讲词汇,接着warming up ,reading ,language study ,using language , summing up .课后作业要及时完成。   3. 每天下午晚自习前听英语,由课代表负责

第1部分

整体建议   1. We'd better develop our interest in English at the beginning of our study. To develop interest in English study is not very hard. We may have the feeling of satisfaction and achievement from our English study when we are able to say something simple in English, talk with others or foreigners in English and act as others' interpreters.   在英语学习之初,我们应该注重培养对英语学习的兴趣.培养对英语的兴趣并不难.当我们可以说点儿简单的英语,用英语与别人或与老外交谈,或作别人的翻译时,我们就可以从英语学习中得到满足感和成就感,这样,兴趣就培养起来了.请注意,这种满足感和成就感很重要!  

2. Plans are always very essential, so we must make some elaborate and workable plans before study. And we should certainly carry out these plans to the letter.   制定英语学习计划太重要了,所以我们必须在学习前制定精细的和可操作的计划. 并且我们一定要严格执行这些计划.请注意:千万不要干没有计划的傻事,那等于在浪费生命.

3. Notes should be made whenever we study any book. We may follow this advice: Don't read book without making notes. As we know that notes are the summarization, the core content, our understanding and the abbreviations of the books. Our notes are much thinner than the books so that we can learn them by heart easier and can often review and read them. We may also record our notes on tapes so as to often listen to them easier, to deepen our impression and to lighten our burden of memory. Sometimes it is needful to draw some tables and illustrations that are very impressive, visual and concise.   无论学习什么,我们都要作笔记.我们可以参照下面的忠告:不作笔记就不要读书.如您所知,笔记是我们对所学课本的总结,中心内容,我们的理解和课本的缩略.笔记要比课本薄的多,我们可以较容易的记忆和经常复习他们.更胜一畴的做法是把笔记录成音,这样我们可以经常听一听来加深印象和减轻记忆负担.   

4. Watching English movies, English TV programs, listening to English songs and learn English on some special occasions are also excellent and vivid English learning ways as we may combine English with some certain scenes to deepen our memory.   看英文电影,收看英语电视节目,听英文歌曲和在某些特定场景学习英语也是很棒和很生动的英语学习方式,因为这样我们可以把所学英语与某些特定的场景联系起来以加深记忆.

5. Never just memorize single English words. Learn by heart the whole sentences and the phrases that contain the new words so we may know how to use the words.   请不要孤立地背英语单词.请背记包含生词的句子或词组,这样我们才真正能运用这些词汇,而且印象更深.  

6. If time permits, we may read Mini Chinese-English dictionary carefully from cover to cover, which may help us widen our sight and master knowledge in all aspects.   如果时间允许,通读小小汉英字典对于英语学习也帮助很大.他能帮助我们扩大视野并全方位地掌握所学知识.  

7. Excellent personality is one of the decisive factors in English study. Persistence, patience, self-confidence and determination are badly needed.   优秀的性格也是英语学习的关键因素之一,坚持,忍耐,自信和坚定都是很重要的.当然如果兴趣培养得好, 可适当削弱这方面的要求.  

Part 2 Detailed methods(第2部分 具体方法)  

1. Listening comprehension:(听力)  

A.可以通过讲地道的口语来提高听力.发音,语调和句子结构请不要中国化.既然能说出来,当然能听懂.当然这样作有点难.  

B. Keeping a relaxed, natural and steady mood when listening to some materials.在作听力练习时,力求保持放松,自然和稳定的心态.即建立自信心和培养良好的心理素质在听力提高中致关重要.  

C. We may make some simple notes while listening, for examples, the names of people and places, time, age, distance, occupation, figures and so on to get a better understanding of the content.  

在作听力练习时,我们可以作些简单的笔记,例如人名,地名,时间,年龄,职业,数字等以便更好地理解材料.当然还要以听为主.   

D. Catching the drift of the content instead of understanding every word and never waste too much time on single words.   作听力练习要重材料大意, 而不要力求听懂每个词,不要在单个词上浪费太多时间.  

E. Pay close attention to CONCESSION and TRANSITION so as to correctly understand the attitudes of the speakers. The following words are most important: even though, even so, in spite of, unless, although, no matter, however, whatever, no, nor, neither…nor, but….   密切注意听力材料中的让步与转折以便正确把握说话人的态度.特别关注这些词: even though, even so, in spite of, unless, although, no matter, however, whatever, no, nor, neither…nor, but…. F. If we may learn by heart new words by listening some word tapes, the results must be satisfactory.   在背记生词时,如果能听词汇磁带,那么对听力提高也很有好处.  

2.Reading skills:(阅读)  

a. Intensive Reading:精读:在精读课文时,我们要把生词,词组,句型做成笔记.读后要试着用这些疑问词提问自己:谁,什么,何时,何地且努力用自己的话来回答.  

b. Extensive reading:泛读:要培养浏览,跳读和快读的能力.即抓住关键词,主题句和中心大意的能力.  

c. Reading speed:阅读速度:三种方法提高我们的阅读速度:1.先从头至尾不间断地通读课文以抓住课文大意.不要在单个词或单句上浪费太多时间.2. 阅读时计时.3.阅读时用手指或笔尖指向文章字句并快速移动来迫使我们的眼睛快速随手指或笔尖移动来强化我们的阅读速度.  

d. Newspaper as good reading materials can widen our sight and richen our knowledge.   多读报,多受益:开阔视野,丰富知识,学习流行词语和英语最新发展.   

3.Writing skills.( 写作)  

a. We have to accumulate abundant materials before we write something, say, learning by heart crowds of articles.   写作需要有很多素材,积累素材很重要.要多背课文.  

b. Try to express one meaning in various ways.   努力用多种方式表达一种意思.  

c. Keeping English diary if possible.   写英语日记.

“ 读前准备”部分是Reading的前奏,此部分设计了两个问题,诱发学思考。通过对问题的讨论和比较,让学生明白学好英语的重要性。

2).Reading (阅读)

“阅读”部分文体为说明文,全文共分三个段落。全文阐述了一个鲜明的观点:英语的确是当今世界范围内使用最广泛的一门语言之一,也是联合国的工作语言之一,它的重要作用是其他语言不可替代的。

3)Post-reading(读后)

“读后”部分共设计了两类题型:第一部分是和个问题,其中前面两个是细节理解题;第三题是一个开放性题目,鼓励学生把英语学习与现实生活相结合。第二部分是填空形式,帮助学生梳理文章,掌握文章主要细节,概括中心思想,实为文章的一个纲要。

三部分均以提高学生阅读能力为主,所以将此三部分有科学地整合成一节阅读课。

3、教学重点

1)、使学生在认识学好英语的重要性的同时,更加热爱自己的祖国。

2)、发展学生的阅读能力,尤其是归纳总结,https://www.dakao8.com/猜词和查读(scanning)的能力。

3)、使学生通过交际性任务和合作的机会,培养他们用谚语思维和交际的能力。

4、教学难点

1)、使学生在认识到学好英语的重要性的同时,更加热爱自己的祖国,从而培养他们的祖国意识。

2)、与同伴一起讨论并找到解决问题的方法。

5、教学目标

根据课文特点及新课标对高一年级学生英语学习能力的要求,本课的教学目标我定为以下几方面:一、语言目标,二、情感目标。

1. 语言目标

本课为阅读课型,是一篇说明文,涉及了英语在当今世界范围内人们生活中扮演的不同角色及其重要意义。尤其介绍了英美英语语言的差异。通过阅读使学生了解“世界英语”的一些基本概况,包括它的重要性和英美英语的差异。教师根据课文内容用不同的形式来训练学生,提高阅读技能。由于课文讲述的是世界英语的话题,学生会感兴趣。为了引起共鸣,可把课文与生活中经历结合一起讨论。本课的目的是使学生提高听、说和阅读能力,更深的了解学好英语的重要意义。从而激发学生学习英语的兴趣。

2. 情感目标

让学生领会英美不同文化差异和风俗习惯, 领会语言丰富多彩性和发展变化的特征,使学生在认识世界英语在人们生活中扮演的不同角色的同时,更加热爱自己的祖国,从而培养他们的祖国意识。培养他们的跨国文化意识和世界意识。

二、说教法

教学环环相扣,设计紧凑。先利用学生感兴趣的话题引起兴趣,然后带着问题有目的地阅读文章。通过回答问题掌握细节,理清线索,再从整体上把握它的结构、特色,学习用英语归纳以及复述,最后以拓展课文知识小组活动完成这节课的整体教学。使他们掌握阅读技巧的同时也增加了见识。在小组讨论过程中,学会用已学词、句表达出自己的观点。学生通过体验、实践、讨论、合作和探究等方式,发展听、说、读、写的综合语言技能。

为了能很好地突出重点,突破难点,圆满完成教学任务,取得良好的教学效果,我抓住重点,联系实际,以学生为主体,教师为主导,让学生集中练习。为了激发学生的兴趣愉快地学,我采用阅读、快速阅读、判断正误等教学方法,让学生充分体现课堂教学“主体者”的身份。

三、说教学程序

1、导入:首先在学生对英语是世界上最广泛使用的语言和越来越多的人在学习英语现有情况了解的基础上,引出问题“Do you know how many countries use English as their mother tongue?Do you know something about English around the world?”在学生思索时,引出课题English around the world。接着再询问学生:What language has the largest number of speakers in the world? What language is the most widely spoken and used in the world? How many countries do you know use English as their mother tongue?使学生对本节课的话题有进一步了解,而且很有兴趣了解“世界英语”的具体情况。从另一个角度,先给学生一个语言上的input。激发学生的兴趣和欲望.

2、Pre-reading (读前准备):在学生回答了以上问题后,我让学生看这一部分课本上所设的两个问题: 1) How many languages do you speak? Which is your native language? 2) If you speak more than one language, in what situation do you use the languages?让学生仔细思考后回答。教师不必忙着下结论,诱导他们从书中去思考寻找答案,激发他们探究的兴趣。

3、Reading:使学生了解英语在当今世界范围内人们生活中扮演的不同角色及其重要意义。

任务 1:Listen to the tape ,听录音,然后让学生尽力得出大意并且回答问题

1. How many countries are there where the majority of people speak English?

2. How is English used in Hong Kong?

3. What language should we use on the Internet so that we can communicate with people around the world ?

任务2:让学生带着问题阅读课文(scanning)。有目的性阅读是阅读训练一种技巧,并且提醒学生不用太多花大多注意力在地名和新单词上面,集中精力探究文章内容。阅读后学生给出答案

(教师不要袖手旁观,可以给学生必要的引导和帮助,发展学生的自主学习能力,真正的成为学习的主体。)

任务3:根据课文内容,判断句子对与错。

1、There are more than 42 countries where the majority of the people speak English in the world.()

2、There are more than 37,500,000 people who learn English as a second language.()

3、New Zealand, South Africa, the Republic of Ireland and the Philippines use English as their mother tongue.()

4、More than 750,000,000 people learn English as a foreign language.()

5、English is the only one working language of most international organizational trade and tourism.( )

(此设计是为了检查学生是否理解文章大意和一些重点细节。)

任务4:根据课文内容,完成以下五道阅读理解题。

(这活动帮助学生梳理文章,掌握文章主要细节,概括中心思想。教师对学生的表现要及时给予评价:或表扬、或鼓励。让他们体验到成功的喜悦,努力的收获。因为愉快的体验会化为下一次成功的动力。)

4、Post-reading(Group-work):

任务5:分小组讨论:1)Why is it becoming more and more important to have a good knowledge of English? 2) In which countries do we find most native speakers of English? Give the names of three counties. 3) Living in China you can use English every day in different situations. Give two examples.给学生五分钟的时间分组讨论,然后让每组的代表给出答案(完成本课教学目标)。 教师在布置任务后,应监控各小组的活动,适当的时候可以参与到学生的活动中去。在活动中,教师多用评价性语言:Marvelous /Excellent /Fantastic /Well done/Great…

(这项任务型活动,使学生有机会表达自己的看法与观点,同时,让他们学会合作,发展与人沟通的能力。进一步提高语言实际运用能力,使学生的思维能力、想象力、协作和创新精神等综合素质得到发展。)

5、Summing-up(总结)

Through learning this passage, we have got to know that English is becoming more and more popular all over the world now. So English learning seems important to everyone, especially us students of the new century. With China’s entry into WTO, English will play a more important part in business, in tourism, and even in people’s daily life. So it’s no doubt that everyone should have a good knowledge of English. And I hope everyone in our class can make an effort to learn English well. But on the other hand, it doesn’t mean English is better than Chinese. We must keep it in mind that one’s mother tongue is the most beautiful language in the world. The reason why we learn English is that we should thus be more capable of building up our country. (这是个很好的机会引导学生在领会学好英语的重要性的同时,更加热爱自己的祖国,从而培养他们的祖国意识。It’s a good chance to lead the students to love our own country as well

as to learn English well.)
